When I launched TLP in May 2008 a lot of people told me it was a bad time to be starting a business. The world was in the worst recession it had seen for 20 years, companies were making lots of people redundant and seemingly no one wanted to invest in training and development.But despite the well meant advice, I saw the opportunity that existed in such turbulent times. Employers wanted even more from their staff and employees were looking for strong and decisive leadership, so training and development became even more important. I’m pleased to say, I haven’t looked back. In my last corporate role as head of training for a large Pharma company, I’d seen hundreds of Training and Development companies that wanted to sell me this or that training programme. Most of the conversations were based around what they could offer me, rather than what I needed. So I’ve made it my mission to ensure TLP stands out in the field of training and development.
